10 small things...

10 SMALL things that make my everyday a little better…

1. My camera. I adore it. (though I am planning on getting a new one, when I find the money) It has brought me to tears and into fits of laughter. It has saved memories I would have long forgotten. It has shared life’s moments with those who are not near.

2. My trusty vacuum. I use mine for everything. I vacuum AT LEAST once a day and I always, and I mean ALWAYS, feel better after vacuuming up a dirty surface.

3. My blog. Its nice to get comments and new readers and share photos, but that’s not really why I do it. I can tell you in all honesty that I feel such a sense of accomplishment after I post something of my kids. I really believe I can look back on this ol' blog and be proud of who our family is! (not to mention the grandparents love it)

4. Cheese. It is useful in many situations, a quick snack for myself, it is great to cook with and also it keeps my kids quite for about 2 minutes till they finish the piece I gave them. (and probably 2 more minutes, when I give them another piece)

5. My coffee maker. What energy this brings me in the morning when I take my first sip of scalding hot coffee. I might have to reheat my coffee about 3 times a morning, but I eventually finish my cup by the afternoon.

6. Caller ID. One of the greatest things invented. I can ignore all the pointless calls from solicitors and spend that 5 minutes more with my kids. I don't have to enter the zone of being mad at whomever I don't know that just called me for some no good reason. I don't need a new vacuum, I don't read the paper, I like my garbage company and if I wanted you cell phone service...I would switch!! Enough said!

7. My slippers! What would one do, living in Minnesota, with no slippers. I wear mine everyday in the months of October-April....and sometimes in the other months too! The keep my feet very happy!

8. My computer. It helps me stay connected with friends and family and is my number one way of CHEAP communication. I am a blogger, so when I have "me time" and nothing else to do, it gives me something to do. Not to mention it is my yellow pages, white pages and direction guide!

9. Candles. They always smell good and make my house smell great! I have one lit, just about everyday.

10. (Last but certainly not least) My kids smiles! They can get me out of my bad day funk and send me right into a land of love! They come out of nowhere and the little giggles, that usually follow them, just pull on your heart strings. They make me realize how lucky I am to be their mommy!

And that’s a bright spot in my day.

Not me Monday!!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I most certainly did not put Chase's pants on backwards this morning and hear him say, "mama, you put the but in the front." I did not start laughing hysterically!

I did not put the kids in the huge bath tub next to me, to play, while I go ready this morning...very slowly! I did not let them turn to prunes, because I wasn't done getting ready fast enough.

I did not have a great productive weekend full of manual labor. I did not work so hard the past two days, on the house that we are moving to, that I can't even move today. I ache in places I didn't know existed!

I am not praying for warmer weather, so that we can go outside and play for longer than an hour. My kids do not need to get their energy out daily!

I did not make my plate for lunch, then eat the kids remaining 3 corn dogs, after I was full.

What did you NOT do this week?

PAY IT FORWARD!!

Pay it Forward!

I was one of the first three people to leave a comment on Hilary's post, so now it's time for me to play pay it forward on my blog. I am a pretty creative and crafty person and love to make things, so hopefully the first three people will get something that they like.

Here are the rules:
  1. Be one of the first THREE bloggers to leave a comment on this post, which then entitles you to a handmade item from me - something crafty or yummy, who knows?!
  2. Winners must post this challenge on their own blog, meaning that you will Pay It Forward, creating a handmade gift - anything! - for the first THREE bloggers who leave a comment on YOUR post about this giveaway!
  3. The gift that you send to your 3 friends can be from any price range and you have 365 days to make/ship your item. This means you should be willing to maintain your blog at least until you receive your gift and have shipped your gifts. And, remember: it's the spirit and thought that counts!
  4. When you receive your gift, please feel free to blog about it, sharing appropriate linky love! If you are not one of the top three commenters on this post, you can still play along. Go ahead and start your own Pay It Forward chain, and encourage your blogging friends to do the same!
So remember, Pay It Forward!

Wonderful Wednesday!

I just have to share a little joy! Chase has been dry for the past two nights. He is in underwear through the whole day and he gets a diaper at night. We are trying to keep him dry to only have one kid in diapers. (they aren't the cheapest things) He has woke up the past two morning and been so excited that he is dry. He can't wait to wear big boy underwear to bed! (neither can we!) We are keeping our fingers crossed that we continue this short streak.

Grandma Vroom came to visit and brought us doughnuts!! She read mommy's mind and brought her a coffee too! Thanks grandma, we loved playing with you!

Never too young to learn "poker"

Playing with our huge collection of magnets

Abby takes any chance than she can get to smile at me when I pull out the camera. Right when she hears the sound of it turning on...she says "Cheese!"

Such decisions...which one to put on the fridge first?!

3 Silly Monkeys!

Abby LOVES to talk on the phone...almost as much as mommy....

She decided she would give daddy a call at work...she has cute little conversations with herself and then giggles to herself

Can you guess what Chase and Ella were setting up the chairs for?!
(They were having their own Elmo Live show)

A full day!

Abby was being silly in the morning and posing for the camera

Then when you put Chase in the mix, they just start getting goofy

Abby just adores Bauer, so they were just laying in the sun together. When Chase saw that I was laying with Abby and giving her attention, he decided to come join in, so he wasn't left out.

That is defiantly MY boy :) (camera in hand)

Both Chase and Abby love to wash their hands, I'd almost say a little too much! Before breakfast, lunch and dinner, we always say "go bubble bubble." It is a race to the bathroom to see who gets up on the stool first. i guess it isn't a bad thing, but when we are cooking dinner, Chase will ask if he can go bubble bubble yet...Abby immediately takes off for the bathroom to run for the stool. If we tell her it is too early and dinner isn't ready yet, she throw a HUGE fit. I guess they like clean hands.

Abby love to look at herself in the mirror, while she is washing her hands

Eating a yummy lunch

Can't forget about my peanut in her high chair ;)

Time for some art...I have been getting better about doing art almost everyday with the kids, based on the theme we are learning about that week. If I don't do it by lunch, they start to question what the art project is for the day

Silly little pirate girl

Our fire trucks...for transportation week

It is finally a nice outside. We went to the park near our house today and the kids had a blast. There was no snow around the park, except for little ice puddles at the end of each slide. We had fun, but came home with wet bootys ;)

Chase decided to test the slide with the ice puddle first...

Abby loves the slides

Ella's turn

Chase is such a big boy, he can climb up the goofy ladder to the top of the play ground.

Baby blue eyes! Mommy just loves them!

We ran into our neighbor at the park, so we had running races together!
Chase and Ian...typical boys, love to run!

Ella wants to race the boys

Time for some more climbing

Clear blue sky, a perfect day for the park

Abby running away from me ;)

Hanging out on the couch
