From none to 1 then 2 to 3

Many of you ask about my kids and how we like 3 vs. 2 and how we like their spaces in age.
Well, here are your answers...

When we had Chase, I knew I wanted at least 2-3 more kids. I love kids and wanted a big family.
My brothers and I are all about 2 years apart and I think that is the perfect age separation.
When Abby was born (23 months after Chase) he was a great big brother and adored her, but the change was big from 2 to 3. No more naps, when your child is napping (unless you have them on the same schedule), no more one on one attention (you now have to share your attention), things change big time. It takes awhile to get used to. Chase loved Abby and was such a great helper with her, but he was 'mad' at us. He would hit us and be rude for no reason. Things finally got better around the time Abby was 5-6 months old.
Then Makenzie came into the picture (she was not a planned baby). We knew we wanted more kids, just not at that exact time in our life. {I wouldn't change it for anything though}
When she was born (29 months after Abby) things were SO much better than adding 2 from 1. Chase and Abby had each other and played so well together. They were so sweet and helpful. They seem to understand what was going on and when I need time to feed Kenzie or have 'quiet time' with her, they went and played together. The adjustment was easy!
1 to 2 was a big change and hard to adjust to. 2 to 3 was easy on us and the kids.

Many of you ask....
"Are you guys done?"

If you ask me, I'll say, "no, I want one more"

BUT

If you ask my hubby, he'll say, "guarantee me a boy and we'll have one more"

I think down the road, when it come to that time (still spacing them roughly 2 - 2 1/2 years apart) we'll know if our family is complete or if we want one more.
3 kids, before I was 28 is on a good track, if you ask me.

My life right now is perfect!

I need to let my husband read this to get him even more on board for a third one!

Your three little kiddos are absolutely adorable!! I am sure they will love growing up so close in age to one another!

This post makes me smile. While at my friends bridal shower I started a whole converstation on this topic. I have 3 kids (5,2&1) and love it. I agree that its harder with 2 than 3. I was explaining to the girls last weekend that 3 is perfect because you are always helping one or one is not home, asleep...so the other 2 still have each other to play with. I might of help some moms get a bigger family, lol!

haha you are so right. going from 1 to 2 is a huge adjustment. After 2 adding more isn't a big deal other than having to take care of older ones and younger ones at the same time. The biggest adjustment for me was when Allie was born because Caleb was still so small. he was only 9 months old when I got pregnant with allie and he was still such a baby and so needy in his own way. that was tough!

This topic has really been weighing on my heart lately. I would love more kids but my hubs is a bit...we'll say hesistant...right now. Plus our house is way small for more people right now. I feel like the Lord has bigger plans for us though. Thanks for the help!

Hi there! Your blog's adorable :) I just had my 3rd baby in April and I completely agree with you on the transition being much easier than from one to two! Praise God!
