Really....some people!

I just can't believe some people!

 So...I was out shopping the other morning and after I got done, I was headed back to my car. I put away the stroller, buckled Kenzie in her seat and all the while, noticed the car next to me was running.
I didn't bother to look over that way, until I got in my car and buckled my seat belt.

When I looked over, there were 3 kids in the car, {UN-BUCKLED} jumping around the seats, without a care in the world. {REALLY...OMG!}
These kids we about 6, 4 and 2. Did I mention...the car was running AND the doors were unlocked

Does this not spell disaster!?

 First off, why are you taking your kids shopping, if you are going to leave them in the car?? If there is no one to watch them, while you go shopping....stay home! There is no emergency, where you have to go shopping! Also, why are you leaving your {young} children in the car....unattended, while it is unlocked and running?!

Am I crazy for thinking this?!

 All it takes is a foot to slip to knock the car into gear, some {horrible person} to open the door and take one of your children or one of the kids to think 'hmm....I wonder if I can drive!'
(I hate to think this way...but these things do happen)

 I don't know about everyone else, but my children's safety is number one. I go through my day looking out for their safety and thinking how to prevent 'mishaps.'

{I hope I am not offending anyone by posting this....but I was completely applaud by this parent leaving their young children in the car!}

I would have called the police.. or waited until the parent came back and said something along the lines waiting there until they got back instead of calling the police...

No way could I have left when those kids where in the car alone.

Wow! That is absolutely crazy! A few weeks ago I was in Target & they announced over the intercom that there was an unattended child in a car in the parking lot. I think I turned red in the face it made me so mad! What are people thinking??

People are really "stupid" sometimes (not to be rude, but it's true!) And you know that parent would be the first person on TV crying that they just don't understand how it happened (when their child got kidnapped, etc.) USE YOUR BRAIN!!!!!!

So no, you are not alone in thinking that is insane! :)

That's just asking for trouble. Shudder!

IMO, that's grounds for calling the cops or DHS for sure. I know in Arkansas, you're not supposed to leave them unattended in the car, even if you're watching it from a window or something.

i completely agree with you. unfortunately, it's not the first time i've seen it. i was at the mall once and a lady had left her young child in the car, WITH IT RUNNING...he was in the front seat. someone called the police bc they had surrounded the car and waited for her to come out....i know all this bc i was parked near her while my husband was in the mall. i've never ever left my kids 5,3,and 2 in the car for even a second. i take them into any store i go, even if i only need one thing!!!

I am not surprised at all. Things like this happen all the time, unfortunately. We live close to a casino and there are CONSTANT news stories about parents who leave their kids in their car while they gamble for hours. It disgusts me.

I agree with the others and would have called the police. That parent was completely wrong by leaving those little ones into the car. I keep my wagon in my truck and if I need to run into WaWa quickly (it's a local convenient store), they go into the wagon & into the store with me. It's totally unexcusable what they did.

That is so terrible! I am sure it happens more than I know or have seen, but I cannot imagine leaving a child in a car even to run in for 10 seconds! There are too many 'crazies' out there these days!
I did see this happen a few years ago. I went to a convient store with a friend and I sat in the car when a lady pulled up next to us. She ran in to the BATHROOM. I timed her and she was in there 8 minutes. I stood at the car door until she got back. I told her I called the police and turned her plate number in. She start screaming at me, but I didn't care! And I didn't really call the police, but I was SO angry! ... oh and did I mention it was over 100 degrees that day! .... some people!

My husband is a police officer and unfortunately they get these calls all the time. If you ever see this again call the police bc my husband has found that in some cases (not all) there are more problems with their parenting than just leaving them in the car. In fact once the mom was actually drunk. It is so unfortunate that some people don't realize the danger their children can actually be in.:(

I would have called the police too - I couldn't have handled doing anything else.

Some people are horrible!

People are so ridiculous! I always call the police for things like this. It is NONSENSE. Shame on them!

That is scary! I prob would've called the police then waited for them to get there. So not worth it!

That is actually frightening that children could be placed in such a risky, dangerous situation by the people who are supposed to love them and protect them from harm. I would have called the police - totally unacceptable behavior - some people are just so ridiculous!

That is crazy! I, too, would have called the police. It's illegal here to leave a child unattended in the car.

That makes me sick...I witnessed something similar at the post office, and called the police. I sat there for a good 15 minutes waiting to see if the parent came back out...in this case there was an infant. Un believable!!!
