Giving a GOOD show!!
  I will be the first to tell you, that the good does outweigh the bad tough!  I love my kids more than I ever could have imagined!
But being their enforcer parent is one tough job.

NO ONE is perfect and trial and error is your friend through out parenting. Kids are so innocent and learn best by example.

Each of us makes an impact, whether intentional or not, on the very people who will eventually be in charge of our world.
When was the last time you were – in a store, in church, on an airplane - and noticed a child staring at you? What were you doing at the time? What imprint did you make in that little brain?
{now you're thinking..aren't you!}

There are so many titles under the job title 'parent.'

Making decisions, teaching them right from wrong, disciplining them, letting them learn the ins and outs of 'their world,' showing them endless love and being patient with them.

{Do you see what I mean, these can be tough tasks}

 Encouraging them to learn, 'holding their hand' through tough times, being their role model, giving them hope, keeping them safe, teaching them values, showing them how to respect others and praising them beyond belief!

All these are your job as a parent! What a BIG job title! There isn't one of those things that doesn't go unnoticed by your children. They see everything. It will never be explained better to me than this...

"Children are little sponges and they are soaking up life's lessons, watching and learning how to fit into this world."

I say...
Our children are watching us. Let’s make sure we give them a good show!

 Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Tuesday Tidbits

 Cause who doesn't like tips, tricks, help hints, 'cheat sheets', pointers and even organizing pointers to make life that much easier?!

 Ever get sick of those dang resealable bags?! I have found the answer! We LOVE chocolate chip pancakes over here, so we use a lot of these...
I would love an easy way to store and pour them...
wouldn't you?!

Find an empty plastic bottle
I'd suggest if you are using the big bag of chocolate chips (from Costco) to use a two liter bottle, otherwise a small bottle will work for a regular size bag.

Cut off the top {keep the cap}

 Cut off the top of your bag

Then feed the plastic of your bag through the top of the bottle and replace the cap
{you might need to press hard to get it to stay}

Here are pictures for a smaller bag

What are your tips, tricks, help hints, 'cheat sheets', pointers?!

OCD Monday!

I don't think I can get through a weekend without something!
My hubs calls me OCD.
(Maybe true..just a little)

Chase's closet has bugged me ever since we moved in 3+ years ago. It looked like the picture on the had a built in organizer, that doesn't fit his clothes, as they are getting bigger.
So...I called up my amazing dad (who just happens to be a contractor) and said 'Please help!'
Well, now he has tons of room and a dresser for all his clothes (that desperately needs to be painted)

 Next...our bathroom has looked like the picture on the left for way too long (over a year now)
Ugly orange, no towel bar, patched holes...ick!
It desperately needed some TLC!
I put the hubs to work on the painting, since he is more patient than I.
 It needs some pictures, but I am still on the search for those. Until then, I love finally having a towel bar again, a much better paint color and fun shower curtain.
{now if I could just enlarge it times 3}

This is this weeks project. New storage bookshelf for the dining room.
{hoping my little 'monster' can't get into the doors and drawer}

To add to all the chaos, I had to re-arrange my living room again. I get so tired of it, I have to change it up now and then.

I have had this obsession since I was little. I would re-arrange my room constantly when I was young, and things haven't changed.
Unfortunately our bedroom furniture is too big to move and our room isn't huge, so it only fits 2 ways. So I stick to the other rooms of the house.
{My kids love it..the hubs not so much}

Saturday Satisfaction

I couldn't keep this recipe to myself....

::What you'll need::
*1/2 jar dill baby pickles (drained, but save the juice)
*1 tsp. garlic salt
*8 oz. cream cheese-softened

 Dice pickles or chop them up very fine. (I used my Ninja to chop them)

Once they are chopped, put them in a bowl, add the block of cream cheese and the garlic salt. Mix well!

Add enough pickle juice to make it a 'dip consistency.'

Good Enough?!

Do you ever wonder if you are parenting right?!
(I know I have asked myself plenty of times)

Though we can always do our best, if we worry less about how good we are doing and put even more love into it, that is what really counts.

I was told daily as a child that I was loved. I am not going to lie, my dad has a temper (that I remember very vividly and a hand that hurt my butt more than I want to remember)

BUT...I know my parents love me more than anything
...even more than my older brothers. hehe!

'It's tough love' as I tell my hubby. It teaches you right from wrong, but yet I have no question that my parents loved me no.matter.what I did as a child.

I am not going to lie and tell you all that I don't have my dad's temper and that I haven't ever spanked my kids.
But everyone of my kids knows how much I love them and that they are my #1 priority on a daily basis.

I don't feel that kids these days get told I love you enough and parents are so caught up in their work and with their technology and electronics that they don't make enough time for their kids. Kids these days have toys and technology to keep them busy, that take up so much time that could be partially used as 'family time.'
I remember Sunday nights as a kid were homemade pizza and game night. We always had so much fun playing games together and there were no ifs.and.or.buts...
Sunday was family night!

This is not saying that there aren't great parents out there that are wonderful that 'do it right.' It is saying that there still are some that haven't figured it out.

Isn't the idea....
Keep them busy with knowing that they are loved and that someone will always love and care for them!

If we bring more love into this world, that is what our children will know as 'normal.'

Tuesday Tidbits

 Cause who doesn't like tips, tricks, help hints, 'cheat sheets', pointers and even organizing pointers to make life that much easier?!

I know I am not the only one out there with microfiber couches and kids. The combination of the two doesn't always mix.
Luckily one set of my couches, the cushions zip off, so that I can just throw them in the washer.
Our other microfiber couch, there are no zippers or easy ways to clean the couch. I have tried to use my carpet shampooer...but it takes forever to dry and if you don't clean the entire thing, you can see the places you did and didn't clean.

Here is an easy and quick way to clean your microfiber couches...
And who doesn't love easy and quick?!

You'll need:
*A spray bottle
*A bottle of rubbing alcohol
*A sponge (white in color, or the color of your couch)
*A bristle brush

Fill your spray bottle with the rubbing alcohol and spray your spots on your couch with it. Once it is wet, use your sponge {use some elbow grease} to scrub into the stains. Your sponge will show the dirt you are getting off.
(I did my whole couch this way)
Then let it dry, it doesn't take long, since alcohol dries fast.

From stains to a clean couch...easy as that!

 Your couches won't smell like alcohol, though the room you are doing it in, may for a few minutes.

What are your tips, tricks, help hints, 'cheat sheets', pointers?!

Fab Friday

I am linking up with Laura over at the Every Day Joys

The Everyday Joys
Here are the FAB things in my world right now...

-I have an amazing motivating hubby that gets me to train for my run. I am not huge on running on the treadmill, but I need to. He gives me that extra little kick in the butt to do it! Hopefully this training and continuing to work out, will get my 'ideal' body back.
-I was up all night with a sick boy. Puking is not my cup of tea, and I feel so bad for my kiddos when they are sick. This is not fab...but laughing hysterically with my hubs, at 4 a.m. is FAB! Abby called out from bed and asked if we were painting the bathroom. Apparently...moping up puke sounds like painting. Nothing like a good laugh!
-Speaking of will be FAB when it is done. Goodbye ugly orange bathroom...hello grey and blue goodness! Can't wait to have my bathroom out of demolition state!
-I am down 6 lbs. in the past two weeks! FAB! I swear I had hit a plateau with my body and my weight wasn't going anywhere. Now that I am eating right, running and working out...(aka...putting in a lot of time) It is finally dropping. Bring on the bikinis! {well, maybe we'll wait till summer hits}
-We had an awesome Valentine's day and night! We had a lot of fun with arts and crafts during the day and ended the day with an awesome dinner made by the hubs and my brother-in-law. We had my sister-in-law, brother-in-law and nephew over for dinner. Always good fun!

FAB Valentine's nails!

 Valentine's treat buckets!

 My 3 early rising Valentine's

 {Pure sweetness!}

 Reading their new books from grandma O

Valentine sandwiches

 More Valentine art

My Valentine spirit!

Looking at the 'I spy' blanket
{buddies forever!}

 Silly Valentines!

What is FAB in your world lately?!
