That Was Before...

...I was a mom!

I had no problem spending 2 hours in the bathroom getting ready for the day...
NOW...
I keep it under 40 minutes, including my shower!
--
I could go to the mall and blow through way too much money and spend it all on myself
NOW...
I go to the mall with intentions of finding some great deals for myself and end up buying stuff only for my kids!
--
I always listened to the radio in the car and actually knew what the hit songs were...
NOW...
I get to listen to whatever the kids choose to watch on the DVD player!
{choose your battles...right?!}
--
I cared more about making sure I was all 'dolled up' to go out, even to the grocery store...
NOW...
There are times I hit up the grocery store with no make-up and un-showered!
--
I got to eat all my meals hot and right out of the oven or off the stove...
NOW...
My kids come first and my meals usually have to be re-heated!
--
I always had a new profile picture for FB/My Space/AOL, it stayed updated weekly...
NOW...
I am not sure the last time I took a self portrait for a profile picture. It is usually of my kids!
--
I never owned so many organizing bins...
NOW...
I have a bin for just about everything my kids own
{no really...I do!}
--
I slept in till 10 or 11 am on the weekends...
NOW...
I wake up when I hear the pitter-patter of little feet
--
I had all the time in the world to sit down with a good book...
NOW...
I am lucky if I finish one in 2 months!
--
To find baby and kid boogers on my shirt after babysitting was GROSS...
NOW...
It is something I find more often than not and it is a new normal.
--
I took naps when I was tired and stayed out till wee hours of the night...
NOW...
I rarely will ever take a nap and partying at the bar is not for me
{well, on occasion, but I don't last much past 11}
--
Getting my hair done was just a thing I did about every six weeks..
NOW...
It is a treat and I anticipate the 'quiet time' along with the adult conversation with my stylist!
--
I had plenty of free time and probably abused the privileged...
NOW...
It comes at very rare occasions and is cherished!

All and All...I wouldn't change a thing!!
{but just sayin'...things have definitely changed!}

I can relate to you on so many levels! I ALWAYS use to get dolled up before going anywhere, but now I'm lucky if my hair is in a semi decent ponytail before I leave the house haha

Just the other day I spent about an hour of B's nap showering & getting pretty annnnd Beckett literally threw up ALL over me moments after he woke up! I couldn't help but laugh, (and I maybe wanted to cry a little too) my how the times have changed ;)
