Coffee Date?

Mine.is.piping.hot!

If we were having coffee together, I would make sure we were sitting outside, it is sunny with a cool breeze, beautiful for the beginning to my girls weekend!
Can you tell that I am super excited about my girls camping weekend....sans husbands/boyfriends/kids! Just girls, gossip, wine and some sun!
Bring.on.the.relaxing.fun!

If we were having coffee together, I would let you know that this week was full of kids at our house with lots of laughter and chaos. The more the merrier...no really, my house is usually less chaotic with more kids.

I would let you know that my little all star played an amazing baseball game last night. He had two triples, a double and a single. Not to mention some amazing catches! He amazes me and I was actually on the edge of my seat watching the game. I can only imagine what it's going to be like in a few years when he is even more competitive.
One.proud.mom!

I would tell you that I am more than proud of myself for sticking to my 'diet' and loosing the weight I want to. I am finally happy with my body, since having my four kiddos. No more kiddos for this mama, so time to stay fit. I have my brother's wedding in September and we are going to Mexico in November...so I do have motivation. Not to mention, I really got tired of putting on outfit after outfit in the morning and not being happy with my looks.
14 pounds down in 3 months...go me! {pats self on the back}
Now time for the harder part...toning! I always tell myself, after you stretch a slinky out so many times, it never goes back to its 'tight self' again. I feel the same way about my abs after having babies. So I tell myself, it's all worth it for my gorgeous kids, but time to love 'me' again...sit ups, planks and squats, here I come!
Bring.on.more.motivation!

I would let you know that I am on my second cup of coffee before 9 am! Why.you.ask? Well, I only got 4 1/2 hours of 'beauty sleep.' I was up late last night cutting wedding invitations and finishing up some orders before being gone for the weekend.
One.tired.mama!

Now I leave you with two great pictures that were taken at my husbands grandparents 60th wedding anniversary party...

This is his grandparents with their 11 great grand-kids
(2 more will be born in the fall)
{Love this picture!}

Party Like a Rock Star - Guest Post

I am Arianna and I am a full-time mom and a fashion-lover, world traveler, animal lover, and family woman extraordinaire. I love to cook and bake, travel to new places, share great fashion finds, and spend time doing crafts and projects at home with my kids. I have a crazy busy life, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! Follow my blog for more great ideas and posts.

Since becoming a mom, entertaining friends and family in a creative and festive atmosphere has become a new passion of mine. I hope you find some of these tips helpful in creating your own special memories!

Party Like a Rock Star This Summer With Celebrity-inspired Events

Every time I turn on my television or computer, there is a constant stream of pictures of celebrities posing on the red carpet of award shows or relaxing in private bungalows on the beach. Who wouldn’t want to be covered in jewels and chatting up Leonardo DiCaprio? I would take rubbing elbows with A-listers over scrubbing grass stains out of my husband’s soccer shorts any day!

After an extremely productive (and mimosa filled) lunch with a few girlfriends, we realized we could create our own celebrity worthy fun right in our own homes! Here are a few ideas for celebrity-inspired activities that won’t drain your bank account!

CELEBRITY SUMMER: BEACH HOUSE IN EXOTIC LOCALE – During the warmer weather months, many celebrities disappear to exotic locations around the world. Paparazzi track down Hollywood’s A-List from Bora Bora to St. Tropez. With crystal clear water and white sand beaches, celebrities are able to leave their worries behind – until an unflattering bikini shot ends up on Star magazine’s “Worst Beach Body” cover!

REALITY SUMMER: HOUSE SWAP -- While most of us are not able to fly off to our own personal yacht, you can still visit a fresh location and board in comfortable surroundings. People all over the world participate in the new trend of house swaps. What's the next best thing to being in the comfort of your own home? Being in someone else's! (Unless it’s a house from an episode of “Hoarders”… eek!) Hotels can be quite expensive and impersonal. By swapping homes, you can afford to take the whole family somewhere new and still have money left over for fun souvenirs to bring back!

CELEBRITY SUMMER: DO SOMETHING AWARDS -- The Do Something Awards recognize young people who make positive contributions to the world through community projects or charitable events. Celebs like Ben Affleck and Cuba Gooding Jr. often drop by to show support. The winners are rewarded with community grants to continue their good deeds!

REALITY SUMMER: VOLUNTEER PARTY-- Round up your kids and recruit their friends for a volunteer party! Organize a beach clean up, visit a senior citizens’ center, or spend some quality time at an animal center. Charities will appreciate the help and your kids will see how rewarding it is to do some good in their community! A nice treat, such as ice cream or pizza, to celebrate the end of a productive day will only add to the fun!

CELEBRITY BACHELOR PARTY: OUTDOOR GATHERING -- TV personality Jimmy Kimmel passed on the opportunity to charter a private jet and travel around the world for his celebration. Instead, he took his longtime pals and groomsmen to the countryside of Vancouver. Kimmel and friends rode bikes, tried out local pubs, and hiked.

REALITY BACHELOR PARTY: "OUTDOORSMEN" THEME -- Make any groom-to-be happy with a celebration of his “manliness” at an outdoorsmen-themed bachelor party. The guys can enjoy a weekend filled with hiking, fishing, camping, and whatever else their little hearts desire! Suggest a manly, yet refreshing drink like "Beer Lemonade Punch" as a fun way to rehydrate. Just cross your fingers it won’t end up like  “The Hangover”!

10 Things I Live For...

PICTURES - A priceless way to keep memories that I love taking. I have taught myself just about everything I know about my camera and all my photo editing skills. I love looking back on little and BIG things with all of our pictures of documentation.

MY KIDS - They are my world and watching them grow up and learn from my hubby and I, makes me one happy mama daily! Watching them do things I remember doing, learning from experiences and teaching each other makes me heart full! They make me smile and laugh every day!

BEING A GREAT MOMMY AND WIFE - Being the best mommy I can be and striving to give my kids they life they deserve. Also giving my hubby the support and love that he deserves with an unconditional love for my whole family!

FAMILY GATHERINGS - I love watching my kids interact and play with cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. I love being around family and being close knit. I live for being very family oriented.

PAINTED TOES - My toes are constantly painted. I cringe at the sight of unpainted toe nails. I love color, so a splash on my toes makes me happy!

MY HUSBAND - Who happens to be a birthday boy today! He makes me a better person and loves me for me, if there was a beginning to everything it would be with him!

FUN - Having fun and trying new things. Having fun is the name of the game and I love experiencing new things! As long as everyone is having fun, who cares what the original plan was!

COFFEE - (you know me) I can't live without it. It makes me a little happier on those tough days and usually tends to brighten my day, if I happen to have some in the middle of the day. Otherwise it is my morning staple!

FALL DAYS - I love the season and a cool fall day with a fire and a blanket is my idea of perfection. Jumping in the leaves, taking a walk around a lake or camping in the fall is perfection!

STAYING AT HOME WITH MY KIDS - Priceless! Something I knew I wanted to do after I had kids. Being able to raise my own kids and watching them grow is for sure something I live for!

What do you live for?!

Saturday Satisfaction

What you'll need:
    Chocolate Cookie Dough
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar (or dark brown)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup + 2 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 Tablespoons milk (almond, cow's, soy, or half-and-half)
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips (or semi-sweet or milk chocolate)

  • Peanut Butter Cookie Dough
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar (or dark brown)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips (or semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
Instructions:
  1. Make the chocolate dough: Cream the butter and sugars together with a hand or stand mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides and bottom as needed. Beat in the egg and vanilla until combined, scraping down the sides as needed. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Slowly mix it into the wet ingredients. The dough will be very thick. With a spoon or rubber spatula, mix in the milk and then fold in the chocolate chips.
  2. Make the peanut butter dough: Cream the butter and sugars together with a hand or stand mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides and bottom as needed. Mix in the peanut butter, egg, and vanilla (in that order). Scrape down the sides as needed. Slowly mix in the baking soda and flour. Do not over mix. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  3. Chill both doughs for at least 1-2 hours. 2 hours is preferred.
  4. Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Line cookie sheet with silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Measure 2 Tablespoons of peanut butter cookie dough. Roll into a ball. Take 2 Tablespoons of chocolate cookie dough. Roll into a ball. Smoosh the two balls together and roll them into 1 large ball. Repeat for each cookie. The chocolate cookie dough will get onto your hands, so wash/wipe them after you roll each cookie. It is important the chocolate cookie dough is chilled or else it will be even more messy.
  5. Bake the cookies for 11-12 minutes, not exceeding 13 minutes. The cookies will look very soft, puffy, and almost undone. Allow the cookies to cool on the cookie sheet and they will continue to "bake" and set up. As they cool, the cookies will firm up. Cookies remain fresh (and soft) for up to 10 days in an airtight container.

ENJOY....THEY ARE AMAZING!
